Maintain the unit up-to-date

Ensure that the unit firmware is up-to-date, and install the latest firmware if older version is shown.
The latest firmware version is shown below.

I/F Firmware: v3.20a
Digital FPGA Firmware: v006
DAC FPGA Firmware: v003
MQA Decoder Firmware: v020518

Using the unit as a USB DAC by connecting a computer.

nstall the USB Driver to establish the connection with your computer.
If you use a Macintosh computer, installing a USB Driver is not required, unless Bulk Pet connection is chosen.
The latest version is shown below.

Windows: v1.0.31
Macintosh: v1.0.6 (compatible with Bulk Pet)

Install the Esoteric HR Audio Player to your computer.
If the ESOTERIC HR Audio Player is already installed to your computer, check the software version and update to the latest version.
The latest version is shown below.

Windows: v1.0.0.25
Macintosh: v1.0.0.25

How to confirm the Firmware version

Press the “MODE” button on the front panel.
Hold press the “MODE” button more than 3 seconds, when the display is changed.
Press the “MODE” repeatedly until the display shows “F/W ver.”.
Press the “SKIP ” button to check other firmware versions.

How to update the Firmware

Windows

Download the “DFU Driver for Windows Update” (ZIP file) in the Software/Driver section below, and, unzip the downloaded file.
If you already install the DFU Driver to your computer, start the update with the step 3.
Follow the instruction of the “Firmware Update Manual” listed below, and install the DFU Driver to your computer.
Download the “I/F Firmware”, “Audio Program” and “MQA Decoder Firmware” (ZIP files) in the Firmware section below, and, unzip the downloaded files.
Follow the instruction of the “Firmware Update Manual” listed below, and perform the I/F Firmware update.
Then, perform the Audio Program Firmware update.
FInally, perform the MQA Decoder Firmware update.

Refer the instruction of the “Firmware Update Manual” listed below for detail.

How to install the USB Driver

Windows
Download the latest “Esoteric USB Audio Driver for Windows” (ZIP file) in the Software/Drivers section below. Then, unzip the downloaded file, and execute the ESOTERIC ASIO USB driver.exe to install.

Refer the “Installation guide for the ESOTERIC ASIO USB DRIVER” listed in the Manual section below.

Macintosh
ownload the latest “Esoteric USB Audio Driver for Macintosh” (ZIP file) in the Software/Drivers section below. Then, unzip the downloaded file, and execute the ESOTERIC USB AUDIO.pkg to install.
